After Earth was destroyed by an asteroid Mankind’s only starship colonised Tau Ceti Four. But the survival of the settlement is threatened by a lack of souls to reincarnate into its children. More souls start to disappear and Kris Desrey, the only reincarnation of the great Luke Arthur must find an answer. But he has only one verified life memory as evidence that his great predecessor reincarnated in the colony. His critics claim his other memories are false so with the help of the Reincarnation Institute he must remember more.
As a backup plan, the starship’s Artificial Intelligence creates a device that sends the colonies representative Mylee Trellane back in time and space to ask the great Luke Arthur for his help.
Then at last Kris Desrey starts receiving past life memories, but they do not belong to Luke Arthur’s incarnations, they are from Mylee Trellane and a mysterious girl trapped in a metal maze.

Ring of Souls is best read before the 13 Reincarnations novel by the same author, and is just as exciting a read. It is sci-fi from page one unlike the 13 Reincarnations book, but that is no bad thing although the story has a sub-plot that takes you back to us in 21st century Earth. Full of suspense and imagery, the story keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire book and really does take you on an incredible journey with its well thought up panoramas of an alien planet, future technology and some very different aliens. It is fascinating to see Kris mature as he continues his journey and then discovers his true destiny and purpose. I really enjoyed this trip with Kris Desrey, Mylee and Mattie and found myself loving Amber in particular - she put up with such a lot! Although believable, the technology does not take over the book as in some sci-fi, the characters have more importance and are truly credible. In fact this book has a bit of everything: the politics of a unique interstellar colony, clashes of characters, love lost and found, an exciting battle and more. This book ends at a good, satisfying place and I am now looking forward to getting started on the 13 Reincarnations novel.Product details

Found this book really fascinating to read, although I am not a big Si Fi reader I did find this book hard to put down. I understand that this is one of the authors latest books and I am sure that each book he writes will attract more and more readers such as myself, who will look forward to the next one. I am now reading The 13 Reincarnation of Luke Arthur.
Coupling reincarnation to an interstellar colony under threat is an idea I have never come across before. I was curious how the author would progress the story and I must say he has brilliantly succeeded with two incredible twists towards the end. This book has great characterisation progression which is so often missing in kindle Sci-fi.
Sci-fi fans will particularly love the author’s future technology and scenes of cyborgs, drone-camera’s and orbiting star ships with A.I. and much more. In addition, another important component that emerges in this sea of originality, is the love between three of the main characters and loyalty between friends, reminding us that in the end, those human traits are so important to us all. There are of course as in every good novel, baddies and these here are great and unpleasant although one has a good reason to be so.
I had a hard time putting it down, and couldn't wait to pick it back up and am going to read the second in the series now.
