Do you have a son or daughter who seems happy reading or listening to music alone, while you wish he or she would be more outgoing? Do you find yourself wishing your child would come out of that shell? Or are you a teacher or professor who wants to know what's going on inside the heads of those quiet students who do well on tests but just don't seem to be part of things during class and certainly don't seem to know much when you call on them?

This short ebook (15,000 words) is the result of an informal survey of young readers of the IntrovertZone blog. Over 120 students, from middle school through post-graduate levels answered the survey with long, detailed answers. Although the students were from diverse backgrounds, their answers were startlingly similar! The ebook is my discussion of the student responses, summarizing their main points and common traits, but I have included many representative responses straight from the students. Find out what their number one challenge is. Read on to see what they said their parents and teachers can do to help them to enjoy life more and live the lives they were meant to have.

If you are an introverted student, this ebook is also for you. Read the advice other introverted students offer to you, things that have worked for them. And most of all, realize that you are in great company!

Note - you do not need a to read this ebook. You can read it in a free Reader app on your computer or in the app on your iPad.

I just bought and read this book in one sitting through Kindle for PC. It was short and to the point. A friend said a few months ago, "It isn't that introverts don't like people, but they need time alone to recharge."

Even though I am a mom of almost 50 and bought it with my daughter in mind, I could see myself in many of the anecdotes. It really does help to know that I am normal and there are many people who have experienced these things. Even if it doesn't help my daughter at all, it was worth the money for myself. I am also a college student so I could relate to the problem of group work and being put on the spot in class.

There are separate sections with hints for parents and teachers and to the introvert, so that whether you are trying to help an introvert or are an introvert trying to deal with those who don't understand, there are helpful suggestions.

I'll Be in My Room Straight talk from introverted students to their parents and teachers edition by C Black Health Fitness Dieting eBooks Reviews

As the author says introverts aren't broken and don't need to be fixed. A lot of great advice is offered to the parent or teacher of an introverted student. From the need for their own space and time to the importance of not drawing attention to them in front of others. The concept that introverts are private people and may retreat and need to process worry or grieving when they need to is discussed to great effect.

The book also deals with top issues which came up in a survey of introverted students. This section is a hugely valuable resource for anyone dealing with such students. It gives a very valuable insight into the issues they face and indeed the author expresses sympathy with their plight.

A further excellent resource is the section for the students themselves. It expresses solidarity with them and demonstrates that being an introvert is completely normal.

There is also a wonderful section detailing tips and advice and wisdom from the students themselves. If you are an introvert or have a student, child or friend who is, this book will be invaluable to you.
Needs some editing, but the information is very good for people who need to interact with introverts. I would suggest this book to any introvert who is wondering why the introvert wants to be alone.
The most important thing I took from the book is that I'm not alone. Another thing-- there's nothing wrong with me. Well, as far as being an introvert, that is. ) Short, quick read. Take the time to read it if you are an introvert or if you are an extrovert and you know an introvert.
No doubt this book will touch many introverts, and that's great. For me, it was far too much self-esteem drivel. What has helped me the most? Learn to serve instead of brooding endlessly on how misunderstood you are. My most introverted moments are those where I am thinking only of myself.
This book is perfect! It describes my personality very accurately and it made me feel much better about myself after reading it. I realised that having an introverted personality is perfectly normal, and there's nothing wrong with me, contrary to what I had been told my whole life by my parents friends, teachers and even other kids at school. I feel much more comfortable and a whole lot more confident. It is a great book to read, especially for extroverts since it tells them how we introverts feel when they treat us like we're not normal.
The tips from students and the section on body language (both near the end) are very helpful. Read and put into practice along with Shaun Achor's The Happiness Advantage and you will be well on your way to living happily ever after.
As an introvert who faced a lot of judgment from adults during high school and later checked into therapy expecting to be taught how to "be normal", I HIGHLY recommend this book both for introverted students and their parents and teachers. It's high time people learned that introversion is a legitimate personality type, and this book goes a long way toward that. It does an excellent job of explaining what goes on in an introvert's head, what parents and teachers should do to help their introverted kids/students thrive, and what they need to stop doing pronto. It also has a section with advice for the students themselves, but it was the advice for the parents and teachers that really had me nodding my head.
